Life on Earth

Last week there was some article that babbled on about life on earth came from Mars. Today we find one whose title shouted out that life on earth may have come from a comet. In reading the article I was a bit confused, so I followed it to its source article, which in fact didn't propose anything of the kind. Which in turn made me curse for falling for one of the classic blunders in history, the most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, and only slightly less known is never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line and Never, Never believe crap on the internet.

The original article actually proposed that life 'could' begin in a comet and be delivered elsewhere.

Turns out all the building blocks are there, and that if the conditions are just right and the impact occur just in the nick of time that those blocks can grind together and create the amino acids we've come to associate with life. Space.com

My take on the whole thing about life on earth is that it began, actually, on earth.

hmmm Maybe we need a different vehicle.
